Jesus’ first message to us in Matthew was that the Kingdom was at hand. In other words the Kingdom was here, it had arrived. The Jews of those days were expecting the Messiah to come and overthrow the Roman government which had subdued the Jewish people, but Christ didn’t.

Instead He revealed to the people the power that He’d entrusted them with. Religion, which is man’s attempt to reach God, says that you are powerless, but Christianity, which is God’s successful attempt to reach man, says that the power of God lives on the inside of you. If there are things going on in your life that you don’t like, you have the power to change many of them. Don’t look at yourself as a victim, but rather look at yourself as the victor.

Authority is available for you, but you must take it. Christ gave us the Keys to the Kingdom and we must use those keys. Don’t sit waiting on something to happen, go and use the power you have already been given!!
